◼ Dare এর Past from Dared/Durst Negative Sentence এ উভয় From ই ব্যবহৃত হয় কিন্তু Affirmative sentence এ শুধু Dared ই ব্যবহৃত হয়। Durst এর পর To উহ্য থাকে কিন্তু Dared এর পর উদ্য থাক্তেও পারে আবার নাও থাকতে পারে।
He durst/dared not go there.
(সে সেখানে যাওয়ার সাহস পেয়েছিলোনা)
He dared to go there.
(সে সেখানে যাওয়ার সাহস করেছিলো)
◼ Challenge দেয়ার ক্ষেত্রেও Dare ব্যবহার করা যায়, এ ক্ষেত্রে Dare এর সাথে S/Es যোহ করা যায়।

(সে আমাকে কাজটি করার জন্য Challenge দিয়েছে/দিয়েছিলো)

Modal হিসেবে ব্যবহার হওয়ার সময় Dare এর সাথে S/Es যোগ হয়না।
অন্যের কাজে ক্ষোভ বা রাগ দেখানোর ক্ষেত্রে How Dare/dared you/he.she.they+dare ব্যবহৃত হয়।

আবার ২ নং Example-এ The more দুই বার এসেছে, কারণ সেখানে -er যুক্ত অন্য Comparative degree পাওয়া যায়নি।

Use: দাদীর বয়স ৮৬। তিনি আমার কাছে রসগোল্লা খেতে চাচ্ছেন।
আমি বলি, ‘দাদী একটা চাকরি পেলেই আমি তোমাকে পেট ভরে রসগোল্লা খাওয়াব’। দাদী হতাশার হাসি হেসে বলেন, ‘তুই চাকরী পাইতে পাইতে আমি মইরা যামু’। এখানে দাদী মনে করেছেন, চাকরী পেতে বেশী সময় লাগবে আর তার মরে যেতে কম সময় লাগবে।
যখন দুইটি সময় উল্লেখ থাকে একটি লম্বা সময় একটি কম সময় (short time and long time)| এখানে দুটি কাজ থাকে। একটা কাজ লম্বা/বেশি সময় ধরে হয় অন্য কাজটি লম্বা সময় লাগা কাজটির আগেই শুরু/শেষ হয়ে যায়। যেমন উপরের উদাহরণে, দাদী মনে করছে, চাকরী পেতে আমার যে সময় লাগবে তার আগেই সে দুনিয়া ত্যাগ করবে।
N.B. লম্বা সময়ের আগে by the time বসবে। অথবা যে বাক্যে ডাবল শব্দ থাকবে (পেতে পেতে; যেতে যেতে ইত্যাদি) সে বাক্যের আগে by the time হবে।

(বৃষ্টির কারণে আমি আসতে পারিনি)

(বাসিম পরীক্ষার কারণে আসে না)
Dhaka is almost uninhabitable because of traffic congestion.
(ট্রাফিক জ্যামের কারণে ঢাকা প্রায় অবাসযোগ্য হয়ে গেছে)
Fiaza could not show up on time because of jam.
(জ্যামের কারণে ফাইজা সময়মতো আসতে পারেনি)
Shaeera can’t tell a lie because of being honest.
(সৎ হওয়ার কারণে শায়িরা মিথ্যা বলতে পারে না)
Zamim cannot tell a lie because of his honesty.
(জামিম তার সততার কারণে মিথ্যা বলতে পারে না)
Can’t he run because of being fat?
(মোটা হওয়ার কারণে সে কি দৌড়াতে পারে না?)

⬛ As/ Since - যেহেতু ... সেহেতু।
As/ Since you don’t know English, you are an international dumb.
(যেহেতু তুমি ইংরেজি জাননা সেহেতু তুমি একজন আন্তর্জাতিক বোবা)
Use: As অর্থ যেহেতু ... সেহেতু। বাংলাতে যেহেতু বাক্যের প্রথমে বসায় Similarly ইংরেজিতেও As / Since বাক্যের প্রথমে বসানো যেতে পারে।
As/ Since you are the manager, you have to do it on your own responsibility.
(যেহেতু তুমি ম্যানেজার, তোমাকে এটা তোমার নিজ দায়িত্বেই করতে হবে)
As/ Since you don’t know, (you) don’t talk.
(যেহেতু তুমি জান না, (সেহেতু) তুমি কথা বল না)
As I don’t have money, I will not go.
(যেহেতু আমার টাকা নেই, তাই আমি যাব না)
I will not go as I don’t have money.
(যেহেতু আমার কাছে টাকা নাই আমি যাবনা)
As you are the eldest son, you have many responsibilities.
(যেহেতু তুমি বড় ছেলে তোমার অনেক বড় দায়িত্ব আছে)
কিন্তু As বক্যের প্রথমে বসে 'যেমটা' অর্থও দিতে পারে:
As you can see, we are going.
(যেমনটা তোমরা দেখতে পারছো, আমরা যাচ্ছি)
Since সময়ের ক্ষেত্রে অন্য অর্থও দিতে পারে সেটি Since এর post এ দেয়া আছে।

⬛ In spite of / Despite (সত্ত্বেও):
In spite of + noun / noun phrase.
I came to University in spite of sickness
(অসুস্থতা সত্ত্বেও আমি ভারসিটিত এসেছি)
Preposition এর পরে কখনো Verb হয় না। অর্থাৎ Verb থাকলে তার ...Ing যুক্ত হয়ে Noun হয়ে যায় (যেমন Swim→ Swimming) অথবা Noun form হবে।
He is not happy in spite of being rich.
(ধনী হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে সুখী না)
He doesn’t drive in spite of having a car.
(একটা গাড়ী থাকা সত্ত্বেও সে চালায় না)
He can run fast in spite of being fat.
(মোটা হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে দ্রুত দৌড়াতে পারে)
In spite of his age, he still leads an active life.
(তার বয়স হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে এখনও কর্মঠ)
Note: In spite of এর বদলে despite ও দেয়া যাবে। কিন্তু despite এর পরে of হবে না।
I went to University despite my sickness.
(অসুস্থতা সত্ত্বেও আমি ভার্সিটিতে গিয়েছিলাম)
সহজ কথা: সত্ত্বেও = In spite of.

I bought a car instead of a motor bike.
(মটর সাইকেলের পরিবর্তে আমি একটা গাড়ি কিনেছিলাম)
I will take tea instead of coffee.
(আমি কফির বদলে চা খাব)
Call her instead of sending a text.
(মোবাইলে মেসেজ দেয়ার বদলে তাকে ফোন কর)
Give reward instead of punishment.
(শাস্তি দেয়ার পরিবর্তে পুরস্কার দাও)
Type the letter instead of writing.
(চিঠিটা লেখার পরিবর্তে টাইপ কর)
Note: Prepositionএর পরে Noun অথবা Noun phrase হয়।

⬛ আশা করেছিলাম যে তুমি আসবে।
(I had hoped that you would come)
S + had hoped + that + S + would + V1.
Use: অতীতে কোনো একটা ব্যাপারে আশা করেছিলাম বা ভেবেছিলাম এমন বোঝালে। যেমন, “ভেবেছিলাম তুমি আসবে” বা “সে ভেবেছিল আমি তাকে গাড়ীটা দেব” এরকম বুঝালে Had hoped হবে। তবে মনে রাখতে হবে, এক্ষেত্রে আশা পূরণ হয় না।
I had hoped that we would win.
(আমি ভেবেছিলাম যে আমরা জিতব)
He had hoped that I would give him the car.
(সে ভেবেছিল যে আমি তাকে গাড়ীটা দেব)
We had hoped that Mashrafi would play.
(আমরা আশা করেছিলাম যে মাশরাফি খেলবে)
We had hoped that you would join us.
(আমরা আশা করেছিলাম যে তুমি আমাদের সাথে যোগ দেবে)
I had hoped that I would be a pilot.
(আমি ভেবেছিলাম যে আমি একজন পাইলট হব)
Had you hoped that she would come?
(তুমি কি আশা করেছিলে যে সে আসবে?)
Hadn’t we hoped that you would take care of the children?
(আমরা কি আশা করিনি যে তুমি বাচ্চা গুলোর যত্ন নেবে)
Note: এই Structure টি শুধুমাত্র অতীতকালের জন্য হবে। আর হ্যাঁ বন্ধুরা, যেহেতু অতীতকাল তাই that এর পরে Would হবে কারণ Will এর Past tense=Would.
সহজ কথায়: অতীতের অপূর্ণ আশা = Had hoped.

Note: Till এবং Until এর মাঝে 'কোনো' পার্থকই নেই।
Till/Until এর সাথে as long as এর একটু ক্ষেত্রে পার্থক্য দেখা যায় যমন: I will remain in distress as long as the our earth doesn't become heaven.
(আমি দুর্দাশা নিয়ে পড়ে থাকবো যতদিন পর্যন্ত না আমাদের পৃথিবী জান্নাত না হয়ে যায়)
I will remain in distress till/until our earth becomes heaven.
(আমি দুর্দশা নিয়ে পড়ে থাকবো যতক্ষণ না আমাদের পৃথিবী জান্নাত না হয়ে যায়)
প্রথম বাক্যে as long as এর পরের টুকু Negative হয়েছে কিন্তু till/until এর ক্ষেত্রে তার পরের অংশ Positive হয়েছে।
